What reviewers say

Fans are enthusiastic: one with low-density hair says their curls are obsessed and they keep coming back to it over salon brands, and others love it or use it after a leave-in. The critics found it left their hair sticky, or sticky and crunchy in a bad way, and one found it fine but preferred Herbal Essences’ mousse. One reviewer who found the mousse sticky and crunchy gets on better with the lighter Curl Talk Refreshing Curl Foam.

I start with the Marc Anthony leave in conditioner and then follow up with the Not Your Mother’s mousse! I finish with Eco gel because it’s cheap 😂

I've been using NYM products consistently for about 9 years. I like their shampoos and conditioners (the original line, the bond line, and the clarifying scalp clay scrub in the little tube). I always have at least one in my rotation at all times. My curls are obsessed with their mousse. I've tried so many products from salon quality brands, and I always come back to this mousse. Their refresh foam is great, also. The gel doesn't do it for me. Out of all their products I've tried, the gel is the only thing I didn't like. However, many people love that gel. My low density hair just doesn't like it. While this brand works for a lot of people, it just might not be for you, and that's okay, too.

  3. Positive

    Favourite brand; consistent results.

They are my favorite, I use the leave in conditioner, mousse and gel. Surprisingly the gel holds but doesn’t feel or look like gel in the hair. I get the same result pretty much every time with this product, but I also have a strict routine, haha. I used to use their shampoo but I’ve switched to Saltair.

  4. Positive

My sister and I recently switched to using their Curl Talk bond building shampoo and conditioner, and my hair is amazingly soft. I also love their mousse.

  5. Negative

Left hair really sticky and crunchy in a bad way.

Thanks, I've tried the mousse but it left my hair really sticky/crunchy in a bad way. I do better with light foams that don't get crunchy.

  6. Negative

Feels it left their hair sticky.

I also have been feeling like this mousse has left my hair sticky! Do you have an alternative that you like better?

  7. Negative

Fine but not for their routine; prefers Herbal Essences mousse.

I just recently switched to using NYM products as well and so far I’m really liking them. I feel like I get similar results using the gel or the cream. I did not like the mousse. It was fine, but for my routine, I much prefer Herbal Essences curl mousse. I had a bunch of old Aussie gel that I didn’t want to waste, so I mixed it with NYM gel and I think I like the combined product more than either gel on its own.
