What reviewers say

Reviewers use it as the base of their routine. One has used it as a first step for six years and says it doesn’t weigh down her fine curls, another credits it for very few tangles in waist-length hair that amazed her stylist, and one moved from knotty wash days to defined, tangle-free curls. A little on wet hair a few days after wash day buys another two or three days, though too much is a mistake. The doubts are the smell and the feel: one reviewer found it smelled like fabric softener and felt gluey and soapy, and another loves the texture and frizz control but hates the scent. Another reviewer is very sensitive to scents and says this one has been good to her.

  • Gluey and soapy, for one reviewer

My holy grail: I use a little on wet hair a few days after wash day to get another 2–3 days. I keep coming back to it, but too much is a mistake.

Miss Jessie's Leave In Condish is holy grail for me. I use it a few days after wash day on wet hair, only a little bit spread throughout and it gets me another 2-3 days. I keep trying new things and I keep coming back to this. It is very important not to use too much though!

I chop all my hair off every 3 or 4 years for fun and the last time I got it chopped off my dadhair stylist was combing my hair and he was amazed I had so few tangles in my waist length hair. I credited Miss Jessie's Leave In Condish.

I've used it as a first step for 6+ years; it doesn't weigh down my fine curls, works alone for air drying, and I get compliments on the smell. I find most other products too heavy, and I dislike some "fresh laundry" scents.

I absolutely love love their leave in condish!! Been using it as first step for 6+ years. I have 2C/3A fine curls and it doesn't weigh them down. I can use it by itself and air dry, and get lots of compliments on the smell. Most of their other products are way too heavy for me and don't like some of the 'fresh laundry' smells to them.

My number one: I use it daily after showering, and went from knotty wash days to defined, tangle-free curls. I buy a year's supply when I visit the US.

My number ones to the point that when I visit my partner's folks in the US I buy a year's supply. I use the leave-in condish daily after my shower and it's helped me going from knotty misery on wash days to defined curls with no tangles. I also love the jelly soft curls for after the condish, I rake through a small blob, finger curl, and boom done and the curls stay intact all day. Slightly larger blob for like weddings and stuff where there will be dancing and sweating, but even then it is SO good

I'm super sensitive to scents, and it's been good to me without a strong scent.

I'm super sensitive to scents too. The Leave In Condish and the Feather Soft Curls have been good to me and don't have a strong scent or any scent.

I used it and liked it, though the scent borders on too fragrant.

I've used them since probably 2010. They've got a great line with something for everyone (white chick with low porosity half-grey 3B and I've used and liked Jelly Soft, Quick Curls, Feather Soft, MultiCultural Curls and the leave in conditioner; I feel like I've tried others too) but the scents are an enormous drawback if you're at all sensitive to strong smells - I'm not, generally, in hair care but they're still too much - and if you're strictly CG most of their stuff has silicones or other no-nos. But thanks to this thread I'm fighting with myself not to add a tube of Feather Soft to my Amazon cart, if that tells you anything.

The leave in conditioner, jelly soft curls and green quick curls are regular staples in my routine. hate the curly pudding, smells weird to me and weighs down my hair.

I rake it through wet hair in the shower for beautiful, soft, air-dried curls.

After trying many products, it and Multicultural Curls are chef's kiss on my hair.

love texture i get from the pillow soft curls and the leave in condish. theyre the only solution i've found for frizz control for my fine wavy 2b curls. i hate the smell so much though. like im thinking of going back to just having bad hair because of the smell

I wanted to like it, but it smells like fabric softener and feels gluey and soapy.

Hi, for my coarse texture low porosity loose 3a ish curls, multicultural curl cream worked for a bit but now makes my hair stringy. The smell also has a very chemical scent that bothers me. I wanted to like leave in condish but it smells like fabric softener and the product texture feels gluey and soapy at the same time, as if it could lather up. I would say jelly soft curls has the best scent and was the most effective when I used to use it.
