What reviewers say

Everyone who mentions it likes it. Two call it a staple or a favourite. The most telling review comes from a reviewer disappointed by most of the brand, who calls it the only Curlsmith product they would buy again: it leaves their hair moisturised, can give a cast on its own, and works best under a gel. Their one gripe is that it comes in a tub.

I also like the curl in oil styling cream.

FWIW, I really like some of their products, but the best thing I think that the brand has going for them, is the curl quiz. I know of no other brands that have such an extensive questionnaire for you to independently discover your curl and hair type, and then, get a whole recommended regimen for free. Now, I have mixed feelings about their products. I love the hydroflexi jelly, but wasn’t impressed with the in-shower cream. I do like their curl oil. I also like the curl in oil styling cream. I have 3a/2c curls, low porosity. I’d recommend first buying the travel sizes to sample before investing in the entire line.

The only product I'd rebuy. Leaves hair moisturized; hate that it's a tub. Can get a cast with just this cream; best with a gel.

Everyone recommended it during one of Ultas sales. I bought almost every product. The only product I’d rebuy is the oil in cream leave in conditioner. I hate that it’s a tub but it’s nice and leaves my hair moisturized. Works best if you also use a gel but I can usually get a cast with just this cream if I’m lazy or rushed. The moisture memory reactivator is not good. It smells nice. But the consistency of the product isn’t compatible for what it’s supposed to be. It’s too thick so you have to touch your hair or it sits on top. You also can’t use it on dry hair. I diluted it in a spray bottle which is fine, but doesn’t work better than any normal conditioner diluted in a spray bottle. Performs worse than the Cantù one. The bumble and bumble one was better than both. The Aussie brand is significantly better and cheaper. The rehab salve was the most recommended and so I was the most disappointed. I have no idea what this product is supposed to do because it doesn’t do anything. I’ve used it alone and with other products. It has no real effect on my curl pattern… I’ve used it wet and dry. So I guess it doesn’t make my hair worse…. Which is good? But truly, I can’t explain here without pictures how little this product does. Ultimately, I don’t think most of them are worth the price. They also don’t really give you a good hold beyond 1 day (I sleep in bonnet and pineapple). Which is why it’s disappointing their refresh is so odd. I’m biracial, fine 3b/3c mix with some portions 2c, bleaching hair for 10+ years. I like b curls green gel (only on soaking wet hair immediately after the shower otherwise it’s disgusting and clumpy), and blueberry bliss leave in.

Same. I don't use only CurlSmith but their Oil in Cream and Hold Me Softly are my staples. Their Bond Salve and intense treatment serum are also fantastic prepoos depending on what you need. CurlSmith was definitely my game changer on my curly journey.
